she was tired, and she wanted to sleep.

too much travelling. too much moving around. going here, and there. places.

she didn't know what he was doing.

it was like she was his little girl, stuck with him as he ran around doing errands that she couldn't possibly care any less about.

she leaned her head against the window of the vehicle, as she was wont to do, and examined the flags that lined the road. she hadn't seen these before. maybe she would memorize them, so that the next time they appeared in front of her, she would remember them.

so many colors. they all flapped in the wind, rippled like water. so many different places.

all of them corrupt. disgusting.

she played with her hair and mused about the fate of the worlds. she tilted her head so she could look at Zero.

"i wish everybody would just die, sometimes. just disappear."

he looked back at her.

"You wouldn't like that."

"well," she said softly, "not everybody..."

"I didn't think so."

"just most of them. a lot."

he shrugged one shoulder. he reached over and pushed some hair out of her eyes.

she shivered. hated him. hated him so much. but she warmed to his touch anyways.

"you could stay, i think...you don't have to die." she wished she didn't mean it.

"I guess I'm honored." he shrugged again. he had meant nothing by the gesture - but he knew what it would do to her. he kept his smile on the inside, hidden away from her. she didn't deserve a smile on top of that.

she was talking to herself, now, looking back out the window, watching the flags that waved solemnly.

"you can stay," she was saying. "don't die...need you. don't die, won't kill...will be good, a good girl. stay with me and don't leave...need you.

need you."
